Police made nine arrests during a prostitution sting of “johns” on North Broadway Thursday night.

Those arrested were charged under an amended city ordinance, “buying sexual relations,” said Capt. Doug Nolte.

The new charge is more encompassing than the former ordinance, and changes some of the language in the law to allow police to charge more consistently, he said.

One of the arrests also included drug charge, Nolte said.

Male and female police officers served as decoys during the sting operation, he said.
