Police are investigating whether the robbery of a convenience store in southeast Wichita on Monday morning is linked to any of several other robberies earlier this month.

The D&T store at Lincoln and Woodlawn was robbed at gunpoint shortly before 9 a.m. Monday, Lt. Dan East said. A black male in his 30s with a mask over his face entered the store at 895 S. Woodlawn and pointed a gun at the head of the 74-year-old clerk, demanding money from the register.

He left with a small amount of cash and drove off in a white 2000 Buick or Lincoln. The clerk told police the suspect is about 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He wore a red-striped coat with a hood.

Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to call 316-268-4177 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can also be submitted online at www.WichitaCrimeStoppers.com or via mobile phone by texting TIP217 then the message to CRIMES (274637).
