590 pounds of unused or old meds collected in Sedgwick County

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has collected 590 pounds of expired or unused medications, the office said Monday.

Sheriff’s personnel supervised three drop-off sites Saturday as part of the National Take Back initiative, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration and involving the Sheriff’s Office, the office said in a statement.

The event gives people a safe way to dispose of expired or unused medications, the office said.
