Two men were arrested Monday night after allegedly holding three women against their will in a downtown apartment, police said.

The men, ages 26 and 23, knocked on the door of an apartment at 400 W. Central late Monday night, Lt. Dan East said. One of the three women in the apartment recognized one of the men, so she opened the door.

They pushed their way in and would not let any of the women leave, East said. The dispute involved “some sort of debt” connecting one of the men with one of the women in the apartment, he said.

Someone was able to call 911 and alert authorities to the situation. Officers arrived and took the two men into custody on suspicion of kidnapping and aggravated burglary. None of the women, who were 38, 25 and 23, were hurt.

A K9 unit found marijuana in the car belonging to one of the suspects, East said, but no drugs were found in the apartment.
