‘Cops on Rails’ write 10 tickets in Sedgwick County

Law enforcement issued 10 tickets to drivers who broke railroad crossing laws during Wednesday’s special enforcement operation, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

The Sheriff’s Office, along with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Wichita police and the Kansas Highway Patrol, conducted a “Cops on Rails/Officer on the Train” patrol from noon until 3 p.m.

Nine warning tickets were also issued, the Sheriff’s Office said.
