April showers are in the forecast for Thursday morning in the Wichita area.

Cooler temperatures are, too, with highs only expected to be in the mid-50s. North winds will be in the low teens, forecasters say. Chances for rain will end Thursday night as skies begin to gradually clear. Lows will fall into the upper 30s.

Friday should see the return of sunshine to the region, forecasters say, with highs in the 70s. Robust winds will return, too, with south winds in the teens and gusting to nearly 25 miles an hour.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms return over the weekend, forecasters say. Easter Sunday could be a wet one for Wichita and the surrounding area.
