Wichita Transit officials unveiled this morning two new west-side routes tailored to bring services closer to bus riders.
The two new routes, along West Maple and West Central, will operate every half-hour between 5:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Saturdays. During a promotional period, from April 12 through 26, service on both routes is free.
The new routes were unveiled by city officials Monday morning during a news conference at NewMarket Square.
The two new routes are joined by a neighborhood feeder service on the west side, available by appointment. Riders can reserve the front-door van service from 6 to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new routes took effect Saturday.
