Kansas Honor Flight to leave for Washington, D.C., on Wednesday

The first Kansas Honor Flight of 2014 leaves Wichita Mid-Continent Airport on Wednesday.
The Southwest Airlines flight leaves at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Included will be 20 World War II veterans, two Korean and two Vietnam veterans and their guardians. They will return at 11:10 a.m. Friday.
In Washington, the veterans will visit the World War II Memorial, the Korean Memorial, Vietnam Memorial Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Dulles Smithsonian Air Museum, Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where they will see the changing of the guard. They will also visit Fort McHenry.
The trip is organized by Kansas Honor Flight Inc. More trips are scheduled every two weeks throughout May and June on Southwest Airlines. There will not be trips in July and August, but trips will resume in September and October.
