A Wichita woman pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to embezzling at least $289,000 from Southwest National Bank.

Lisa Marie Evans, 43, pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a news release.

The embezzling occurred between 2011 to 2013 when Evans was responsible for the daily balancing of the bank vault. The theft was discovered during a surprise audit in April 2013, according to the release.

Security cameras revealed that Evans was taking money from the vault.

Her sentencing is set for June 30.
