Police are looking for two men who knocked out a stranger and stole his wallet in south Wichita on Tuesday night.

The 31-year-old victim told officers he was walking in the 2200 block of South Washington at about 10 p.m. when two men he didn’t know said something to him as he passed them, Lt. Dan East said. That’s between Pawnee and Mount Vernon.

When the victim turned around to respond, he was hit on the head with an unknown object, East said. He regained consciousness to see the men running away.

The victim was treated at the scene of the crime for his injuries, East said, but refused transport to a local hospital.
