Jeff Blubaugh will become Wichita’s vice mayor next Tuesday, following the annual City Council vote.

Blubaugh, who represents south and west Wichita in District 4, won the slot in a 5-2 vote Tuesday over District 5 council member Jeff Longwell. Mayor Carl Brewer and council members Lavonta Williams, Janet Miller and Pete Meitzner voted for Blubaugh. James Clendenin voted for Longwell. Each candidate voted for himself.

Blubaugh replaces Meitzner, who served as vice mayor for the past year.
