Police: Man beaten with chair leg near Ridge Road, Central

Wichita police were called to an apartment complex in the 700 block of North Ridge Road early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m.
After officers arrived, a 54-year-old man reported that a 47-year-old man had hit him in the head multiple times with a broken chair leg, according to Lt. Dan East, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
Prior to the beating, the two men had been in a verbal argument, East said.
The 54-year-old man received multiple lacerations to his head and was taken to Via Christi St. Francis by EMS.
The 47-year-old man was taken into custody by police on suspicion of aggravated battery.
