Wichita police responded to two, separate shootings that occurred about within an hour of each other overnight in north Wichita.
Sgt. Ron Hunt said the first shooting was reported to police about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of North Lorraine.
Hunt said a 31-year-old man reported two men getting out of a tan car and walking up to a house in the area, after which he heard gunshots.
Police found three, 22-caliber shell casings in the front yard of the house. He said the house was struck by the bullets three times.
Hunt said no one was injured.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, police were called to a house in the 1700 block of Old North Manor where a person reported hearing nine gunshots.
Hunt said police recovered 14 shell casings in the street. A house and two cars parked in its driveway were struck by the bullets.
He said none of the five people inside the house were injured.
Hunt said a neighbor reported to police seeing a white Suburban with large rims and its lights off “speed off” from the house after the shots were fired.
