If Sunday’s appetizer wasn’t enough, Monday’s menu is a full course of spring for the Wichita area.

Sunshine, light southerly breezes and highs in the mid-70s are expected in the metropolitan area, forecasters say. It’ll be only the second time since mid-November that the temperature has been in the 70s.

Skies will remain mostly clear tonight, with lows only dropping to the mid-40s. South winds will remain light, nudging double digits at times.

Those winds will switch to the north and strengthen on Tuesday, pushing into the 20s by afternoon and gusting to more than 35 miles an hour, forecasters say. Highs will top out in the low 60s.

A chance of rain arrives Tuesday night, when lows descend to the low 30s. North winds will be even stronger before midnight, blowing steadily at more than 30 miles an hour before easing slightly overnight, forecasters say.

Wednesday will be cooler, with highs in the low 50s under mostly sunny skies.
