A donor has provided a seed donation to the Flint Hills Theraputic Riding Center, officials said this week.
The donor, a local woman who has requested anonymity, has committed to $5,000 a month for a year, according to center board president Margaret VanSkiver – enough to stabilize the center’s finances and enable it to continue serving clients.
However, the center still needs more donations – from individuals and corporate sources - to operate and serve as many clients as possible – at least another $2,500 a month, center officials said.
“We continue to apply for grants and are making contacts with many businesses and individuals in the community in an effort to ensure that we have enough cash flow to operate and serve our current riders, as well as the resources to continue to grow,” VanSkiver said.
To donate, call the center at 316-733-8943.
