A 23-year-old man is in jail Sunday after throwing a vase at his 48-year-old mother.
Police were called to 1050 N. Piatt on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Sgt. John Hoofer, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
When police arrived, they found the woman with lacerations to her head and a large gaping wound on her arm.
According to Hoofer, the vase hit the mother in the head and the wound on her arm was caused from shards.
She was transported by EMS to a local hospital where she was then taken into surgery.
The man was taken into custody under suspicion of aggravated battery.
