Small earthquakes continue to shake up Oklahoma

The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a half-dozen more small earthquakes in central and north-central Oklahoma.

The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a half-dozen more small earthquakes in central and north-central Oklahoma.

Authorities say no injuries or damage are reported from the quakes that ranged from magnitude 2.2 to 3.5 and were recorded in Logan and Payne counties, although police in Stillwater say several residents called to report feeling the temblors.

The U.S.G.S. reports a magnitude 3.5 quake was recorded at 3:15 a.m. Sunday about 7 miles northwest of Langston and a 3.1 magnitude quake occurred at 9:11 p.m. Saturday about 3 miles southwest of Stillwater.

Separate 3.0 magnitude quakes were recorded at 1:23 a.m. Sunday northwest of Langston and at 10:44 p.m. Saturday southeast of Stillwater. Two other quakes measured at magnitude 2.2 and 2.7 were also recorded in the Stillwater area.
