A mixture of rain and a few snow flurries are possible Thursday morning in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

It’ll be a chilly, blustery day, with wind gusts threatening to climb higher than the temperature. Highs are expected to reach the upper 40s, with northwesterly winds in the 20s and 30s by late morning. Gusts could top 45 miles an hour.

Skies will clear later in the day, forecasters say, with overnight lows sliding to the upper 20s. Winds will remain blustery, however, topping 30 miles an hour occasionally.

Friday will offer sunshine and highs near 60, forecasters say, with winds shifting to the south-southwest and remaining robust. Gusts could approach 25 miles an hour.

Forecasters say the weekend should see highs in the 40s under mostly sunny skies.
