A man threatened an off-duty police officer early Saturday at the IHOP restaurant on Kellogg east of Greenwich, Wichita police said.

After a disturbance in the front lobby, the officer walked the man, who appeared to have been drinking, out to his vehicle, Sgt. Ron Hunt said. At the vehicle, the man pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to kill the off-duty officer.

On-duty officers responded and arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer.
