Johnson County developer donates $100,000 to KU Venture Fund

A Johnson County real estate developer has given $100,000 to a fund designed to help University of Kansas researchers create innovation for the Kansas marketplace, according to a prepared statement from officials at the university.

A Johnson County real estate developer has given $100,000 to a fund designed to help University of Kansas researchers create innovation for the Kansas marketplace, according to a prepared statement from officials at the university.

Clay C. Blair III, of Olathe, earned two degrees from KU in the late 1960s. His is the largest gift to the KU Venture Fund to date.

He owns Clay Blair Services Corp., and previously served as the first chair of the Kansas Bioscience Authority and as chair of the Kansas Board of Regents, the KU statement said.
