Wichita police arrested five teenage boys who they say attempted to break into a 49-year-old woman’s house early Saturday morning.
The incident happened at 1:35 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of South Yale, near Hillside and Kellogg.
The woman told police the teenagers tried to kick the back door in on her residence while she was still inside, according to Sgt. John Hoofer, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. All subjects fled on foot after they damaged the back door and set off the house alarm.
“The subjects were located in the area by an officer and taken into custody,” Hoofer said. Police bookedhem into the juvenile detention facility. Four boys were 15 years old, and one was 14.
There was no loss reported in the attempted break-in.
