Wichita police are investigating an aggravated battery that occurred at 9:40 p.m. Saturday near 21st and Broadway.

A 47-year-old man told police three men in their 20s and 30s, one armed with a machete, approached him and pulled him from his vehicle, hitting him in the face two to three times, according to Sgt. John Hoofer, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The three took the man’s wallet and cellphone before chasing him; he went to a nearby liquor store. The three men then took the man’s vehicle.

The man had minor injuries, Hoofer said, and the vehicle has not been recovered.
