A woman who shot her husband to death and then shot herself in the chest as police responded to the shooting call was sentenced Thursday to 61 months in prison for voluntary manslaughter.
An T. Tran, 38, pleaded guilty to shooting Hoang Tuan, 38, in the living room of their home in the 2200 block of East 53rd Street South on Dec. 12, 2012.
Wichita police said the woman’s guardian called 911 to report the shooting, and officers heard a gunshot as they were about to enter the house. Police said they found Tuan dead in the living room and his wife in a back bedroom. Tran recovered after being treated at Wesley Medical Center.
