Rock band Motley Crue is making Wichita a stop on for “The Final Tour,” Intrust Bank Arena officials announced Tuesday.
The band will perform at July 12 at the arena. Alice Cooper is on the bill as well.
Motley Crue, best known for its hits such as “Girls Girls Girls” and “Home Sweet Home,” has said this will be its last tour. It will start in July and stop at 72 U.S. markets this year then head to international stops in 2015. The tour will include all the original members: Lead singer Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist Mick Mars.
Tickets for the concert will be $49.50, $69.50, $89.50 and $125 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday. They’ll be sold using the venue’s lottery system.
In an effort to discourage camping and ensure fairness, arena officials sell tickets using the system whenever they anticipate a particularly high demand.
Under the system, fans can start lining up at the arena box office at 7 a.m. Those who are there at 9 a.m. will be given a ticket with a number. At 9:30 a.m., a random number is drawn. That person becomes first in line, and everyone else lines up behind that person in numerical order.
Tickets also will be available at selectaseat.com, at Select-A-Seat outlets and at 316-755-SEAT.
