A 27-year-old woman told police that as she was leaving work at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, she missed a turn and while turning around in a parking lot near Harry and Hydraulic was attacked and beaten by a man who tried to rob her.

The man pulled her out of her vehicle and beat her several times with the butt of a knife, said Sgt. John Hoofer, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The woman told police the man kept demanding money from her. She was able to fight the man off and eventually drive away.
