The Sarcoxie School District has dropped its Facebook page, which the superintendent says had “become a forum for negativity.”
Superintendent Keith Goddard says he spent much of his free time monitoring the Sarcoxie R-II School District’s Facebook page for posts with profanity or that were otherwise inappropriate.
The last post on page announced in December that the school board decided that the district would continue to use its website and Twitter for communication and that school cancellations would be broadcast on local television and radio stations.
Goddard says the district is also redesigning its internet presence with a new web page and the district will also offer parents a Sarcoxie School District smartphone app for district alerts and information.
