An armed robber targeted a south-side payday loan store early Thursday evening, Wichita police said.

Sgt. Dan Binkley said a woman working at EZ Payday Advance, 2548 S. Seneca, called 911 after a masked man brandishing a handgun walked into the store and demanded money about 6:05 p.m.

“Ultimately (he) left with cash,” Binkley said. He would not disclose the amount.

Binkley said the robber was last seen walking or running from the store. The man was described as in his 20s and was wearing a mask over his face at the time of the robbery.

Anyone who has information about the crime is asked to call 911.
