Man, 70, kills himself at house where boy was accidentally shot in face

A man shot himself to death Monday night at the same address where a boy was accidentally shot in the face last weekend, authorities said.

A man shot himself to death Monday night at the same address where a boy was accidentally shot in the face last weekend, authorities said.

A neighbor called 911 at about 9 p.m. to report hearing a gunshot and then seeing an adult male lying in the front yard of a house in the 5800 block of East Kinkaid, Lt. Doug Nolte said. Officers who responded to 5828 E. Kinkaid, near Pawnee and Woodlawn, found a 70-year-old man deceased.

Nolte confirmed the suicide victim had been arrested after reportedly shooting a 10-year-old boy in the face while playing a game of “quick draw” with a revolver Saturday at the same address. The man was identified in arrest and police records as Robert M. Dugan.

Dugan lived alone at the house on Kinkaid, Nolte said. He was friends with the mother of a 14-year-old boy who, with his 10-year-old friend, were with Dugan at the house when the incident occurred after midnight Saturday, police have said.
