Kansas Geological Foundation awards scholarships

The Kansas Geological Foundation has awarded $11,000 in scholarships to 12 geology students at Kansas universities.

Logan Kelley of Kansas State University was awarded the Knighton Family Scholarship of $1,000. Michael Lee of Wichita State University was awarded the Robert Dilts Scholarship of $500; Austin Gion of WSU was awarded the James Dilts Scholarship of $500.

These students were awarded $1,000 by the foundation: Allison Joy, University of Kansas; Megan Wall, K-State; Jacquelynn Miller, KU; Adrienne Duarte, KU; Kyle Day, WSU; Anna Downey, K-State; Jennifer Lowery, KU; Michael Rawitch, KU, and Stacy Hales, WSU.

The foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Kansas Geological Society, hands out scholarships twice a year. To apply, visit kgfoundation.org and click on the Scholarship Application. Print the completed application and mail to Kansas Geological Foundation 212 N. Market, Suite 100, Wichita, KS 67202.
