A man reported to police that he was stabbed in northwest Wichita late Thursday afternoon, but investigators have found no evidence supporting his story.

The 30-year-old man reported he was attacked shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the Presto gas station at 21st and Ridge Road, Lt. Doug Nolte said. He claimed he was stabbed in a chest following a confrontation involving two other men.

But police have found no evidence to support the victim’s report. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for treatment of what a police document called a minor injury.
