Wichita police said criminal charges could be filed this week against a 33-year-old Valley Center man who was arrested after pointing a handgun at two men during what appeared to be a road rage incident.

Police said the incident began when two men, ages 18 and 21, pulled from a private driveway into the 200 block of North Rock Road about 10:40 a.m. Saturday. A man driving a van on Rock Road displayed a hand gesture at the younger men as they passed, police said, then later pointed a gun at them as he drove past them.

Police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the two used a cellphone to call 911 with a description of the van, and it was later found near Park City. A gun was recovered, Brunscheen said, and the driver of the van was booked on two counts of aggravated assault.
