Wichita State senior setter Chelsey Feekin was named third-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday. She is the first Shocker to earn more than honorable-mention status.
Feekin, from Papillion, Neb., averaged 1.5 kills and 10.6 assists a set in 2013, leading the Shockers to a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title and the NCAA Tournament. She hit .433 and WSU hit .281, which ranks 12th nationally.
Middle blocker Ashley Andrade earned honorable-mention All-American. Andrade, a senior from Glendale, Ariz., shared MVC Player of the Year honors with Feekin. Andrade ranked second nationally with an attack percentage of .468, setting an MVC single-season record. She averaged 326 kills and 1.30 blocks a set.
Feekin earned honorable-mention honors last season. It is Andrade’s first All-American honor.
