A 26-year-old Wichita man was critically injured Tuesday night when a car with five people crashed on East Pawnee and ended up near I-35, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 26-year-old man was ejected from the car, sheriff’s Lt. David Mattingly said.
The office Wednesday gave this account: At 9:41 p.m. Tuesday, a 2010 black Ford Mustang was going west on Pawnee from Woodlawn, left the road, hit a ditch, went through a fence and stopped near northbound lanes of I-35. The driver is a 25-year-old Wichita man. All of the people in the car are in their 20s.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
None of the passengers was wearing seatbelts, the office said.
