Man robbed of cash in his apartment

He welcomed the late-night visit of a woman he knew as Angie – but he would not be pleased by what happened sometime later, police said.

The victim woke up at about 12:30 a.m. Friday in his apartment at 8406 E. Harry to discover that “Angie” was partying with three strangers who came over while he was asleep, Lt. Doug Nolte said. One of them asked to use the 27-year-old tenant’s phone and took it outside.

The victim followed the stranger who was using his phone, Nolte said. When he returned, he discovered Angie and the other two men had taken several hundred dollars in cash that he had in his bedroom.

The stranger who borrowed the tenant’s phone put a knife to the victim’s throat and threatened him, Nolte said, telling him to stop following him around. The suspect then left the victim’s phone on a table and ordered him to stay inside. Angie and the three men then left.

They drove off in a green four-door sedan, Nolte said. The victim told police that Angie lives in north Wichita, and officers are now looking for her.
