Santa’s arrival at the malls
Santa Claus arrives at Towne East Square and Towne West Square on Saturday. A welcome parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Towne East, 7700 E. Kellogg, and at 1 p.m. at Towne West, 4600 W. Kellogg. Admission is free. The mall Santas will accept kid visitors through Dec. 24. Visits are free, though photo packages will be extra. ‘Abba Mania’ at the Orpheum
“Abba Mania,” a tribute concert that re-creates the experience of seeing the legendary Swedish pop group, will hit the stage of the Orpheum Theatre on Monday. The show will feature songs such as “Mamma Mia,” “Voulez Vous,” “Dancing Queen,” “Winner Takes It All” and “Super Trouper.” Tickets are $25, $39.50 and $49.50 at Select-a-Seat outlets, by calling 316-755-SEAT or at www.selectaseat.com.
The Mustache Dash
A new 5K race in Wichita on Saturday “celebrates the art of fine grooming” and gives all runners a fake mustache to wear during the race. The Mustache Dash includes an 8:30 a.m. 5K and a 9:30 a.m. “Lil’ Shavers Kids Run.” The race start and finish is at First Gear, a running store at 111 N. Mosley in Old Town. The event also includes food, beverages and raffle items. Registration is $35 on race day for adults and $12 for kids. Runners can register at the race from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Saturday or at packet pickup, which is from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at First Gear.
