A DUI saturation patrol over the weekend by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office netted seven arrests and 15 citations, officials said.
Five adults were arrested for DUI and two were arrested for driving while suspended, Lt. Dave Mattingly said in a prepared statement. Various traffic violations accounted for the 15 citations.
Saturation patrols have proven effective in reducing impaired driving, speeding, and commercial vehicle violations, Mattingly said. They have also increased the use of occupant protection.
One sergeant, five deputies, and two reserve deputies took part in the patrol, which was funded by a Kansas Department of Transportation grant.
