Police: Teenager fires gun after arguing with girl

Wichita police are looking for a 15-year-old male who began punching a 14-year-old girl and when a 50-year-old man tried to intervene, the boy pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

Police were called to the 600 block of South Oliver, south of Kellogg, at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

The boy and girl were involved in an argument and the 50-year-old man stepped in to try to stop the fight, according to Sgt. Scott Brunow, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

Although no one was struck by the bullets, Brunow said, “We do know who he is and are actively looking for him.”
