Beeping baseballs and buzzing bases will be on full volume Saturday for an exhibition game sponsored by the Wichita Beep Baseball Association.
The Wichita Sonics will take on the staff of the Seneca Street Bar at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1000 W. 26th St. South.
The Sonics are the state’s only beep baseball team, a form of baseball for players who have vision disabilities. Sound is added to baseballs and the bases to help the players compete.
According to a news release issued by the association, the Seneca Street Bar baseball players will be blindfolded during the game against the Sonics.
Never miss a local story.
The game is free and open to the public. However, it is also a fundraiser for the Sonics, and any donations will go toward helping the team travel to out-of-town tournaments.
