The Quivira Council of the Boy Scouts of America has a new home.

The ribbon cutting for the Koch Scouting Center, 3247 N. Oliver, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday. The Quivira Council supports more than 13,000 Scouts and their families and volunteers in 30 counties in central and south-central Kansas.

The ceremony will include Wichita City Council member James Clendenin, representatives from Koch Industries, Schafer Johnson Cox and Frey architects, and Dondlinger and Sons Construction.

The 14,000-square-foot building will house the group’s administrative offices, 24 employees, a retail store and meeting rooms. An open house and tours of the new center are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m.
