A Butler County woman was charged Wednesday with murder in connection with a body found in her back yard earlier this week.
Susan May, 54, faces first-degree murder and three other charges in the death of 55-year-old Richard Hrejsa, according to a Butler County District Court charging document. Hrejsa’s remains were found in the back yard of May’s home a couple miles west of Augusta on Monday afternoon.
Authorities now think Hrejsa was killed Sept. 18. The body, which was lying outside in the open, was so badly decomposed that it took an autopsy to determine its gender and identity.
May was also charged with two counts of interference with law enforcement and criminal desecration of a body. Her bond was set at $250,000 and her preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 21.
