An area in west Wichita was without power Sunday afternoon.
The power went out for about 1,900 customers shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.
Shane Batchelder, a spokesman for Westar Energy, wrote in an e-mail to The Eagle on Sunday afternoon that the cause of the outage was unknown and that the automated restoration time is approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday, although “that could change when crews know the details of the situation.” Later messages on Twitter from Westar Energy said power had been restored to all customers as of 10:45 p.m. and that crews had run into problems while making repairs to underground lines.
A supervisor at Sedgwick County 911 said a traffic signal at 13th and Maize was affected by the outage.
