A confrontation with an ex-boyfriend late Saturday led to a beating and the theft of the victim’s car, police said.

The ex-boyfriend came over to the woman’s house in the 1500 block of East El Monte about 11:10 p.m., became angry, grabbed her and placed her in a choke hold until she passed out, said Sgt. Bart Brunscheen. The house is near Hydraulic and MacArthur Road.

When she regained consciousness, her car keys were missing and so was her car, leading to a charge of aggravated robbery.

The car was recovered, and police are searching for the suspect, a 22-year-old male, Brunscheen said.
