Authorities are still looking for an armed man who robbed a south Wichita credit union on Wednesday.

The man walked into the VA Credit Union at 804 S. Oliver at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, pointed a gun at a clerk and handed her a plastic bag, saying “Put the money in it,” Lt. Steve Kenney said.

She complied and he left the credit union, getting into a white or silver-colored Chevy four-door driven by a second man. Witnesses told police the robber is a black man, 5-foot-11 or 6 feet tall with a thin build. He wore a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandanna over his face, black sport gloves and dark running pants with a white stripe down the side.

The possible getaway car had the numbers 547 on the license plate, witnesses said. A white man wearing a blue dress shirt was behind the wheel, they said.

Investigators hope to review surveillance camera footage for clues as to the robber’s identity, Kenney said.
