A 3-month-old girl brought by her 32-year-old mother to a Wichita hospital after possibly suffering a seizure tested positive for cocaine and methamphetamine in her blood, police said Wednesday.
The baby, brought to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, before being transferred to another hospital, remains hospitalized.
Wednesday night, Lt. Jeff Weible, head of the Exploited and Missing Child Unit, described the girl's condition as stable and said she is still under observation.
Earlier in the day, Lt. Doug Nolte said an investigation is under way to determine how the illegal drugs got into the baby’s system.
Three other children in the home, ages 2, 10 and 12, were released to "non-offending family members" while the investigation continues, Weible said
