A Wichita man thought he was going to have a few drinks with a female companion early Thursday morning.
Instead, he lost his wallet and a tooth and earned a trip to the hospital, police said.
The 47-year-old man brought a woman in her mid-20s to his home in the 1300 block of North Spruce at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s just southwest of 13th and Grove.
Shortly after they arrived, Nolte said, someone knocked on the front door. When the victim opened the door, a man rushed inside and punched him, knocking out a tooth.
He then demanded and received the man’s wallet.
“The female that was with him did leave during this altercation at some point,” Nolte said.
The male suspect left and walked away from the house. The victim was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.
“We’re trying to see if there’s a connection between the female at the house and the suspect committing the robbery,” Nolte said.
