A Reno County woman is dead after a truck collided with her car west of Hutchinson on Tuesday morning.

In a statement released on the Reno County sheriff’s Facebook page, Capt. Wayne Baughman said 18-year-old Anja Miller was driving a 2002 Toyota car west on Fourth at 11:54 a.m. when a Hutchinson man failed to stop at a stop sign. His vehicle, a 2008 Chevy pickup, crashed into the car as he was traveling north on Herren Road, an unpaved road.

Miller, of Patridge, died at the scene. The man, identified as 20-year-old Troy Nisly of Hutchinson, was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center as a precaution, the sheriff’s office said. He was later discharged.

In the Facebook statement, Baughman said the crash remains under investigation and that the results would be submitted to the district attorney’s office for possible charges to be filed.

The crash site is about four miles west of Hutchinson in rural Reno County.
