Chemical fire strikes business in southwest Wichita

A chemical fire broke out early Friday morning in southwest Wichita, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.

A chemical fire broke out early Friday morning in southwest Wichita, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 4:33 a.m. at Chrome Plus International, 3939 W. 29th St. South, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. That’s just east of West Street and north of 31st Street South.

While fire crews arriving on the scene reported smoke, the dispatch supervisor said, no open flames were detected. The fire was declared out more than an hour after it was initially reported.
