A 16-year-old northwest Kansas boy was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision in Rooks County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report.
Acetin M. Benedick, Zurich, was flown by a medical helicopter to Wichita’s Wesley Medical Center where he died at about 10 a.m., the report said.
Benedick was driving a 1989 pickup east on K-18, about three miles west of Plainville, shortly before 5:30 a.m. when the vehicle crossed over the center line and went into the north ditch, the report said. Benedick over corrected and collided head-on with a 2002 International 4300 truck, the report said.
The 47-year-old driver of the truck and a 56-year-old passenger were taken to Rooks County Health Center with injuries, according to the report.
