OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A 14-year-old Del City girl has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her 7-month-old son.
The girl entered the plea Friday in Oklahoma County District Court in exchange for prosecutors reducing the charge from first-degree murder and was sentenced to 20 years in juvenile custody.
Prosecutors told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1cCJ3Ub ) that the teenager could be released in two years if she completes a court-ordered rehabilitation plan – but could be transferred to an adult prison for the full 20-year sentence if she fails to complete the plan.
The teenager said she used “unreasonable force” and injured the infant when putting him in a crib and that the injuries led to his death.

The child died April 21.
