Storm-shortened sobriety checkpoint brings one arrest

Law enforcement made only one arrest while conducting a weekend sobriety check lane after a thundertorm and lightning limited the operation to four hours – half the time scheduled, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The sheriff’s office and Highway Patrol conducted theck from 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of South K-15. One person was arrested on drug charges.
